About
Hi! I’m a long term researcher with NC State Apiculture Program as head of the Honey Bee Queen & Disease Clinic. I am currently best described as a reproductive ecologist, with a strong interest and publication record in honey bee male reproduction and behavior. I was trained as a chemical ecologist and collaborate on several projects involving honey bee pheromones and queen behavior. In collaboration with Dr. Hannah Levenson at the Sustainable Crop Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management lab (SCIPPM), I also conduct ecological studies on sites impacted by natural disaster, as well as explore wild bee ecology and behavior more generally. I collaborate widely with students of all ages and stages, research, government, and industry institutions, and have regular collaboration with hobbyist and professional apiculturists. Feel free to click around to learn more about the projects with which I’m involved and don’t hesitate to contact me!
